Mom rule #1: Do not show your bra to the world!
If a shirt or dress is gonna show off your bra by either being low back or low front or too low on the sides… My mom probably would say “Why in the world did you buy that? You can’t wear it in public!”
Her advice is don’t buy the clothes that show off your bra. If the clothes show your bra, the clothes are tacky. But I’ve learned a little about layers, so if I have a shirt/dress/blouse/tank top that will be showing the girls off, I wear a camisole underneath. I can figure out how to wear what I want without being ‘tacky’ or white trash.
Lately I’ve been seeing lots and lots of young girls with their bras all over the place. Today it was a girl with a white tank top over a polka dot black bra. I wanted to cry for her. And possibly shed a tear for maturity and humanity.
Well, there is middle ground, I am here to testify. My mom and I say NO BRAS. Some girls say BRAS ARE TO BE SHOWN OFF. But what if you instead were to trick the general public into thinking they aren’t seeing your bra. You don’t have to be a Jedi Master, but that might help. No, I’ve learned a new trick. Wear Bras the exact same color as the offensive shirt and/or dress.
For instance. Got a turquoise dress with a low back? Wear a front clasping bra that’s also turquoise! Brilliant! No one would have to know, and if they do, would it really bother them?
It might bother my mom…. hmm maybe its not so great of middle ground.
